AQW-inspired e-Novel

I knew this day would come...

AQW has been an important part of my life, and though I've really been hating what's been happening recently. (And yes, I'm well aware of another player's attempt at a more bagspace petition.) What are the chances they'd make it available for non-paying members, eh? Ah. But more importantly, what are the chances they won't make it available for non-paying members? You see, non-paying members are the reason AQW is what it is today; the game began for free. I'm not saying it should be, again; but what I'm getting at is that it should be enjoyable to all the players.

When I thought I wasn't enjoying the limited fantasy of the game, I opted to make my own fiction--and what better way to do it than through writing, right? I hated the lags. I hated the upgrade screen. And most of all, I hated the inventory space. The dragon just wasn't slay-able in a game like this.

But I'll tell you what I did like. Although, I am a writer, I fear the best way to describe it is through another's words (I hate plagiarism--all bloggers do): "Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten." —G. K. Chesterton. From the epigram of Neil Gaiman's Coraline.

And so, it is with great pleasure that I announce the launching of my upcoming e-novel which will be downloadable (the first three chapters) for free by January next year. As of now, it is my WIP on NaNoWriMo, if you're all familiar with that. It is satiric at some parts. And I have used some of the people who have been--or still are--in my Friends List on AQW, and even those whom I have met elsewhere online. But you are all characters in my story. So, I'll give the creators of AQW this: they have inspired this masterpiece.

I dedicate it to all who play--and used to play--Adventure Quest Worlds. To all who have once been young of heart. To all who have once been trampled on by reality. To everyone who once read my blog. To the ones who have touched my heart. You will all be able to slay that dragon of yours.

AQW is Epic

Monday, September 28, 2009

Have any of you ever read Epic by Conor Kostick? If you haven't you should definitely read it; it resembles AQW and so many games of its like.

In the story, Epic is a computer game ... but it is also the center of society, such that it affected the way you lived, that if you lost, you lost everything; there was no 'respawn.' You couldn't play it just for fun; it wasn't just a game.

The protagonists eventually take down the game in the end, anyway; everything is back to the way it should be. The game ends.

What I'm getting at is that I have opted to throw in the towel for AQW. It's not that I haven't enjoyed it (I'm not saying that I recently have); it's just that it hasn't been much of a game for me; it has become more of a battle.

In the story, if you wanted some sort of resource, you had to battle Central Allocations, basically, the rulers of the world; If you lost to them, you lost everything.

I loved AQ; everyone does (and for most like myself, 'did'). It's the best game that I've ever played, but there hasn't been much space for it in my heart as it had for me in its, recently.

I'm leaving my inventory the way it is (full of memoirs from every pitstop in my journey), this blog at its peak, the petition open, and this journey abruptly unfinished. If I could give out gold and rares to everyone, I would; it's a waste to delete them, so they're staying put.

Adventure Quest Hero has been a quest, one to see if I could changed the world of gaming. I couldn't. Mission failed? No. I did -- in some ways. But fought as I might have, no rare in my inventory could stand the painful ice shards... Thanks to everyone who became part of my friends list -- and even to those whom I had no space for to add to said list. Thanks to everyone whom I joined in on trying to get the Broom of Doom or grinding up on XP or Rep, or farming for gold... Thanks to the AE staff.

So for the last time (unless Voltaire has a come-back and I'm his special guest)...

Battle on!

Petition continues!

Saturday, August 8, 2009

The petition continues! If you click the above image, you'll be taken to a page where you can equip your twitter pic with a Twibbon for the cause of the petition. Also, I've taken the liberty of creating the Official AQH Twitter account, so you won't be inundated with writer posts from my original twitter account:
AQH Twitter.

Petition working?

I've been busy alright, but that's not to say I haven't the time to check out the game every once in a while. If you've been paying close attention, the items that they've been releasing are either crappy for non-members or can only be bought via AC's. So what does that connote, dear readers? The petition might be working! And why is that? Rich players will now be buying more AC's, and the money that'll be pouring in at AE might just be used for more bagspace--or new servers, which we do not need at the moment.

I haven't sent any staff member the petition list, but that isn't to say that they haven't noticed our struggles. I will be adding more options for you guys to promote the petition. And that includes Twitter, finally.

Checking in--Again!

Wednesday, August 5, 2009

Okay, so I've been neglecting gaming for a while now. I see most of the fledgling blogs I've come to love have now bloomed into ones of notable proportions. You guys must be happy. That was how I felt when my blog reached its first 1000, and I'm happy with the near 25,000 I have; it's 1/4 of 100,000. Either it was the fact that I used to update frequently, the fact that I had great advertisement, or that I had many a witty quips that marked the growth of this blog. I'm just happy to have great readership now than I have months ago.

I will be back by vacation; don't worry. It's just that I can't juggle writing and gaming AND studies. By that time, all of you would already be stronger than I am, and I wold have to catch up. Let's hope they don't raise the level cap just yet. Wait for me!

There will be an update per month to assure everyone I am still alive and that I am not totally succumbed by the many projects that I am thrown. Keep on battling!

Checking in!

Sunday, July 12, 2009

I've been gone a long time now. Well, it's because I've been busy with school and writing, as I am a writer -- with an unpublished novel. I'm trying to query the handful of publishers that I've got to work with, but cannot do by playing games all day. lol.

I'm happy that we're close to 20,000 views already; and you guys are still at it with the petition, so thanks.

I'll post a bit every once in a while. Thank you for understanding! I will always be your Adventure Quest Hero! ^_^

Character Generators Dissected

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

First of all, credit goes to MutantsRUs at AQWorlds Secrets and his Character Creator. It was his idea; I only re-interpreted. The below guide is not at all the simplest way to generate a character.

Secondly, the guide is only intended for IE users, as I haven’t got Mozilla Firefox. And you will need Microsoft FrontPage. It is the quintessential component of this guide. Next, anything created by the guide below will be non-canon and will not affect AQW gameplay in any way whatsoever.

So the first step is for you to go to a character page. It could be your character page or basically just any character page, as you will only need the code and then edit it on MS FrontPage. Anyway, on your browser window, click the View menu, and then Source. A notepad window with the page’s source code will appear. See the image below for what you will need to copy.

Then you just open up MS FrontPage. Switch to the HTML view via the HTML tab by the bottom of the work area and paste in between the “body” tags. Now, the fourth to the fifth line of code from the one you have copied is what you’ll need to focus your attention on. You’ll have to do a little bit of editing here.

Here’s a list of what each string does:

intColorHair: Your character’s hair color; number value
intColorEye: Your character’s eye color; number value
intColorTrim: Trim color; number value
intColorBase: Base color; number value
intColorAccessory: Accessory color; number value
strGender: Your character’s gender; either M, for male, or F, for female
strHairFile: Your character’s hair’s file; has to be .swf
strHairName: Your character’s hair’s name; has to be congruent with .swf file
strName: Your character’s name; can be anything
intLevel: Your character’s level; may not go beyond 20
strClassName: Character’s class; doesn’t have to be an existing class; could be anything
strClassFile: Your character’s armor; has to be an .swf file
strClassLink: The armor’s name; will come with source code
strWeaponFile: Character’s weapon; .swf file
strCapeFile: Character’s cape; .swf file
strCapeLink: Cape’s name; will come with source code
strHelmFile: Character’s helm; .swf file
strHelmLink: Helm’s name; will come with source code
strPetFile: Character’s Pet
strPetLink: Pet’s name; will come with source code

Now after you’ve associated yourself with the above, you just need to visualize what you want to look like. But here’s the tricky part. As I’m not well capable of finding out the .swf file of each item in the game, you’ll have to find a character page that has whichever item you want your character to have when it’s generated in MS FrontPage.

For the ‘int’ strings, I won’t be expounding any further. The int’s are pretty much the boring part of this guide, actually; all you change are the colors. But basically, if you want to change the color, just open up a character page that has a color that you want and just view their source code via the above first step and copy the number in the int string that you want and paste onto the code that you’re working with.

The same goes for the str strings. All you do is just go to a character page and view the source code, and copy the code that you need. Say, for example, Voltaire. You want his Helm. Just go to his strHelmFile and copy the source (which is: items/helms/Voltairehat2.swf). Make sure you copy his strHelmLink, too, as the latter and these are a sort of tier (VoltaireHat2). The same principle, too, if you’re trying to get his pet.

Now for the fun part. You get to make your own classes! You can even change your name! Albeit, not your level…. For your name, you have only to change the code in the strName string. For your class, which you can pretty much manipulate endlessly to your liking, just change the one in the strClassName string. Remember, you may not change your level, as the level cap still applies.

Remember, the code you’re editing is located in the THIRD <.param .>tag. And whatever you edit there, you’ll have to do with the code inside the tag below it, i.e. the <.embed.> tag.

BTW, there is an easier way of doing this. I just wanted to dissect it, like I did the AQW Battle Bar. The list of .SWF's are
here and the Character Builder is here. None of which I have created! I am merely linking, and credit goes to whoever made them.
In a way, it is cheating. But so long as you only use it for personal pleasure and NOT in any way use them on gameplay, you will still be adhering to the law. Cheating is stealing from AE! ^_^

Dreams...

Monday, June 29, 2009

If for some strange reason I become a member -- or more auspiciously, a moderator (which I don't think will happen anymore, as I've revolted against the AE staff on the bagpsace issues. lol) -- this is what I would want my outfit to look like. I mean, it's nothing too profligate. My dream armor's not even a member armor; it's an AC item, a relatively cheap one at that. But what my taste in armor lacks, my choice of pet and cape make up for. I've always wanted Deady as a pet. And the gravity rocks are just so awesome! Notice that, below, my class says "Adventure Quest Hero", which is cool. The image below is a screenshot of a bit of code I've been tweaking around with on MS FrontPage, and is not at all hacking but more of a form of art, which I picked up from MutantsRUs' Character Creator, which is way awesome; give his site a visit: AQWSecrets.

Artix's Special Note to Free Players

Sunday, June 28, 2009

If you haven't read it yet, here it is:

A special note to Free Players

Hey guys! I am really sorry that there are so few free player items available in the housing release. This was not done to upset you, but because of the huge number of free player accounts (over 8.5 million) it was just too much storage space for all the houses, items, and room customization. We care about you and all of the other players which is why we have new great releases coming that will make everyone happy. Until then, we hope that you will choose to upgrade your account getting full access to housing and help support the growth of AQWorlds.

That's a given all right. But what's one measly additional space going to do? I'm not asking for +10 bagspace -- well, not in general, that is. Most of those 8.5 million accounts aren't even legitimate ones. Some are alts, some used in hacking, some forgotten... Oh no, now I've given them an idea now, haven't I?

Sigh. This is going to deter a few people from signing the petition. And plainspoken, my faith for the petition is crashing. I can't say I didn't try.

The petition will be left open in hopes of some miracle (that doesn't involve buying membership). Sigh.

Wait. Here's an idea. Make a free player version of the bank! Maybe non-members could store items in tree trunks and.... Stupid.

Mages and Houses

Saturday, June 27, 2009

I am pretty darn happy today. Not only am I getting an average of about 7 petition signs a day, but the houses and war are up. I posted late because I got sidetracked with house crashing and styling up my mage outfit. By the way, I did reset the petition sign up form as it was taking too much space, but there is no need to sign up again, as I've listed you already if ever you've signed up already.

The new mage shop features four robes of the four basic elements: Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water. The Zephyr and Terra Robe are for non-members while the Molten Robe and Typhoon Robe are for Members only. This seems only fair, although the Typhoon Robe and Molten Robe are
epic outfits. I've been seeing loads of Zephyr wearers lately, but I opted for the latter rather than go with the Terra Robe. But I did opt for the Terra Robe first, then switched to Zephyr.

Now, for housing. The only things non-members can get with gold are a wobbly chair, a rat, a cardboard box (a sneevil attractor at the very least), a candle, and a broken purple egg. None of which are essential for a home, especially the rat, but you have to admit the line up is quintessentially decent -- most especially the rat, which I am happy of. I just wish they'd give us the option to at least buy five of the same item. I need a dozen rats! Rats are cool. Rats are awesome. And horses. Horses are awesome. Plus, any speculations as to why our Wobbly Chairs aren't wobbly? They should've at least given us that!

Do I smell another petition brewing? Nah. It's the current one blazing into a protest!

As for my house. I'm ashamed of it. It looks like a tornado hit it. It's auspiciously rat infested and a purple dragon may be at large somewhere near its premises. I have no wall items, like all non-members with no ample amount of AC's. I am ashamed to the point that I do not wish to see it, not unless I have anything to move around; and hence have chosen to be nomadic and go house crashing. That is, visiting and crashing at someone else's place, rather than literally, as if I were an asteroid, jostling into. I crashed at Xeremiah's and Yash100's houses today.

Another Petition Thank you!

Thursday, June 25, 2009

It's things like these that make AQW really great. About a month ago, I started the BagSpace Petition because I was running out of space -- and I was pretty sure you guys were, too. What I had no I idea of was that members had it hard just as much non-members did. I had no idea that all of you members found it hard, even with the bank. Now I do understand thanks to the video below. It was made by TrigTheTiger (or known to AQW as Chaos Slayer), so I thank him for supporting the petition.

This is only the beginning... .

Save Chuckles Movement!

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Just recently, a member in the AQW forums generously shared with us his Chuckles pet. I got to see the special cutscene! If you haven't found a player with a chuckles skull pet, I suggest that you started looking! Once you've seen the cutscene once, there is not need to find another skull to view it again, which is great! But you will need another skull to turn in the quests.

But anyway, here's what happened. Once you find your skull and accept the one quest that it triggers, you must go and find Death. After you click on Death's exclamation mark, you will trigger the cutscene with you and Death. He makes a deal with you: You must make him laugh in return for getting back chuckles. But there's a catch -- if you fail, you'll suffer the same fate as Chuckles. So go with the stand-up comedy and junk but fail to amuse Death. Before he goes with taking your soul away, you come up with something so vociferously funny, but is not shown in the cutscene. In the end, you do get Chuckles back -- most of him, that is.

I like to move it, move it!

I thought to visit the AQW forums yesterday to get some support for my petition, which I did, but also found an interest in the asteroid events. I even made a few plausible suggestions. But there was this one suggestion that caught my attention: Move Battleon! I never thought it would be possible, but Artix seemed to have taken an interest to it, which is great -- if only he'd take interest in my petition for more bag space for members. According to what I've read this was all Aaronman99 and Vamparagon's idea brilliant idea. Kudos to everyone who supported this! This is what I call commitment.

Anyway, tomorrow, I surmise we'll be having a release, as it states in the DNs that we'll have to relay the plan to Warlic. Does this mean another cutscene?

Dammit! Artix, listen to my plea! More bagspace for non-members. I know I'm still short by about 9943 signs, but please!

Let Angry Mobs of Non-members lie

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

A few of my friends have commented that AQW and Artix might have finally heard my plea for more bag space. That's good and all -- for members. Congrats, Members (and non-members with great sums of ACs), maybe this petition might have actually mitigated your decrease in bag space, but the battle goes on for us non-members with no access to epic sums of ACs; so I'm still leaving the petition box open for both members and non-members.

I like to think of members as non-members in 100K armors, for if that armor rusts out (or in other words, their membership runs out), they'll be non-members again whether or not Artix gave them a member-only-non-member-accessible item.

With this signal for drastic measures, I have improved the Petition page. You may now access it using the "Low on Bagspace?" button to the upper-left part of the screen, and you may also now get a special "Low on Bagspace" button for your sites and for the AQW forums by copying the code on the latter.

I assure you--and not to seem vane and selfish, and overly thirteen-year-old here--that supporting this movement will not leave you unrewarded.

EDIT: Visit my friends' site:
Lore Hero. I also co-admin there, so it should be worth it -- not to seem vane and thirteen-year-old.

Father's Day Release

Saturday, June 20, 2009

Today was a great release all the same. Once you enter Battleon, you'll probably notice the big robotic fellow by Cleric Joy first before you do the Father's Day Shop. All you'll find in the Father's Day Shop are some pretty nifty golf and barbecue stuff. Go to talk to SkyStalker, the big robotic fellow; and he'll tell you that Warlic wants to talk to you. He also has a shop, so if you're a member (or a non-member who's availed quite a sum of ACs), you'll be able to buy some very profligate AdventureQuest WarpForce stuff!

Now, if you go talk to Warlic, you'll be able to get a sneak peek on the next Lord of Chaos (or Lordesses of Chaos? Ladies of Chaos? TWINS of Chaos!). Oh, great. Now two meteorites are about bilge the world of Lore! That's no match of Adventure Quest Hero--and the forces of good and evil united. Ah, but what of the two quintessential characters of the two latter sides? With the twins now turned into Chaos drones, what of King Alteon and Gravelyn?

Putting that aside for one week from now, if you go visit Yulgar's inn, you'll notice a dart board at the second room (the room the usually leads to the cellars). Well, you can try your luck at getting a bullseye or maybe hold a dart throwing contest. Remember, other players can see the scores you make.

EDIT: All right, who signed Artix's name on the petition box? I take this thing seriously! I am extremely pissed off. I would know if Artix signs the petiton box. He'd put it on the design notes or on his twitter, and he'd even tell the whole crew.

Book of Lore Achievements

Sunday, June 14, 2009

To tell you honestly, I am a bit disappointed with the Book of Lore achievements. Not that I'm ungrateful that it's been updated, but it's just that most of the quests in the achievements aren't completable by non-members. I mean, it's gracious of Artix to even just allow non-members to get a glimpse of such quest chains as Bludrut, but it's just down right cruel! What's more is that they included in the achievements the StarCaptain, Guardian and DragonLord verifications. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for the members, but it's just disillusioning to see question mark icons on my book of lore. It's just so incomplete, knowing that there are quests you have to complete but aren't able to, because you're not a member.

Putting that aside, the new book of lore features dozens of new functions. You can view the storyline, the quest chains and the AE stuff. I suppose they'll be adding the MechQuest Artbook to the AE section of the book of lore, as there'll be a code with the book.

As you can see, there'll be either a good icon or evil icon to greet you upon opening your book of lore, which is quite a nice touch to the whole update.

Click here for the petition! We need reinforcements! MORE BAG SPACE! Thanks to everyone supporting me on this endeavor. 9000+ more sign-ups to go.

For the record, I was groggy while I was making my avvie for this post, so I hadn't noticed I'd put "cowboy" instead of "sheriff" or "colonel". lol.

Edit: As per the Whodunit quest, do not, I repeat, do not, if you are a non-member, attempt to finish the quest using Whiteberry's combination code! Do not, as the costume is members only! I wish there'd been a warning sign before I spent twenty minutes on her. And it was such a nifty outfit as well.

I Dun it! Great Release, AE! WARNING: Spoilers

Saturday, June 13, 2009

It took me exactly 46 minutes and 35.8 seconds to complete the darn Whodunit quest. The mixing and matching of suspects, weapons and locations was incredibly arduous. But it was all worth it to finally be able to see the final cutscene and find out who dun it. It didn't come as a surprise to me that there'd be some strange twist to the story.

It turns out the culprit wasn't human after all. It was an Armoire! Ha, ha! Who would've thought?

Anyway, the prize you'll get varies upon which Suspect, Weapon and Location you match up corectly. It took me quite awhile to finally cipher the code, but I dun it! My code for Plum was 3:5:8. I'll try to decipher which one is Mustard's as I've always wanted to dress up like a cowboy. Ah, dreams unfolding. Great release, Artix, great release! And I thought you were done with just the frying pan. Now, there's just this tiny problem with the bag space; I only have one left. If you have't signed my petition yet, here you go. Leave your username and character page link, so we can finally get some more bag space!

Now here are a few screenies of the cutscene and one of me gloating in Battleon. Enjoy! Please excuse the poor quality of shots, as I had my quality set to low for quicker combo clickings. To date (and time this post was created)--not to brag or anything--it seems I am of the few to finish up the quest a few hours from its release!

A Whodunnit Guide!

All right, so here’s how it goes. Just talk to the concierge, and continue with the cutscene. After which, you will be back to the lobby. Talk to him and start your search. Here’s how I did mine. I went right and entered room 101 and talked to Peacock. After that, continue to the hallway to room 102, and you’ll find Hitchgreen. Next to his bathroom, and you’ll find Edgar Allan Plum. It’s important to note that he’s in the same room—technically—as Hitchgreen. The two could be having an affair. LOL. Next continue to 103 and you’ll find a maid in a trophy room, and Mustard by the Lounge entrance. Continue in the lounge and you’ll find the balcony. Have a look see, try to enjoy the lovely view and—Scarlet! Go up to the ladder and you’ll find a butler. Before proceeding to the room up there, go back to Scarlet and continue right to find a maid. Go back up to ladder and continue in the room, and proceed to find the last suspect, a chef/author, Whiteberry.

101 – Agatha Peacock
102 – Hitchgreen
102 Bathroom – Edgar Allan Plum (suspicious; is he gay? lol)
Baclony – Scarlet
Before lounge – Mustard
After ladder room – Angela Whiteberry

Note: you will need to fight the monster furniture for the skull keys to unlock certain rooms. Go and get a sufficient amount for smooth sailing.

Go back to Curry, the concierge, for your next quest: find the weapons used. This is starting to look like a game of Cluedo. Here’s a list of weapon locations:

Carpenter’s Hammer – Storage room
Axe of Indictment – after Peacock room
Hand of Polearm – go down at Mustard’s room
Rose Petal Sceptor – on Balcony before Scarlet room
Sleuthhound Blade – double down after Whiteberry’s room
Hardy Dagger – room before Library, with the bookcase monster

Next, you’ll have to go back to Curry and search the nine rooms that need to be unlocked by a skull key:

Bathroom – 1st Butler
103, Trophy Room – 1st Maid
Ladder by Scarlet – 2nd Butler
After Scarlet room – 2nd Maid
Double down at Mustard room – 3rd Butler
Room to the Right at Angela’s room– 4th Butler
At the Library – 3rd Maid
Downstairs Storage – 5th Butler, carpenter
Piano room, left turn at lounge – 6th Butler

Then you’ll have to solve the mystery. If you answer incorrectly, you’ll be sent to your room. DO NOT CLICK THE BUTTON “GO TO MY ROOM”! You will have to start all over again if you do. Just close the pop up dialogue, and try another combination of character, weapon and room.

In the original Cluedo games, it isn’t always just one bloodcurlingly mad, sadistic murderer (er… culprit is the more PG-13 term); it depends on which one of the character, weapon and room cards you draw and place in the envelope. Hence, it might be different for each player, too.

I have not completed the quest chain yet, as the servers are so laggy! I only get to the part after I have to go back to Curry after finding the nine rooms and I solve the mystery, and then I get logged off. But nonetheless, to me, it’ll always be the butler who does it. But I still think Edgar and Hitchgreen are up to no good. It's just me.

Pre-post-Petition Thanks!

Thursday, June 11, 2009

I would just like to thank the handful of players, blog readers and bag space enthusiast for supporting my petition.

You may ask why I need your character page. The reason is that I'll need your help to back up the statement I'm sending to the AE staff. Furthermore, the reason why I need your character page links is that it's going to have to be authentic. I'm not a big fan of just posting whoever's character page, as it's morally destitute and indecent to do so--unless they do ask to be put in the list, that is.

Ten people (Sans one broken link and the other repetition) isn't going to be enough of a justifying statement. I'm going for the big 10,000! There are millions of players out there, and all I need is a mere percentage of the total amount of players registered. If we all believe, we can do this! Rile up your friends and we'll make it a ball. Tell 'em to key in their character page here, or if the widget is unavailable, a comment on the post--along with character page link, of course--will do.

BATTLE ON -- FOR BAG SPACE!

P.S. Here's another interesting blog: Adventure Quest Worlds Secrets. My mouth was just watering the first time I read through it. If you're one for AQW graphics, this is the place for you. Don't forget to register to be part of all the action.

Petition: More Bag Space!

Sunday, June 7, 2009

This matter probably isn't new to any of you, I suppose. For the past couple of days, I've been noticing a slight decrease of bag space, what with the cannonade of release and all. I'm not saying that they should lessen the amount of material that the staff is releasing, no. What I'm getting at here is an increase of bag space. I mean, with all of the upcoming classes, armors and incredible items that they're going to release in the weeks to come, well, that's going to eat up every ounce of space I have left in my inventory, which is 2 measly spaces.

I'm well aware that the staff isn't going to increase the bag space all willy-nilly, even if this petition goes smoothly, of course. So what I'm proposing here is that they increase the bag space for those of us few who are AQW veterans, i.e. founders, 9-month-ers, and all-day-and-night players; those of us who remain faithful and never stop playing and loving the game, much to the point where we gain eye bags and pudgy bellies; and those of us who create such profligate sites and forums. Or if they still remain defiant, why not make it a reward in some chain of quest that I'm sure will give them more than enough of an audience to actually bring down all the servers! If that still doesn't work, I'm ready to tell them that players will love the game--and the creators--if they do increase bag space, even if it is a paltry one more space, I don't care; what matters is they increase bag space, and actually listen to players like us who actually live for the game--but that's putting it in a more serious note.

Whether you're a member or a non-member, I'm going to need your help with this. Just key in your username and your URL (preferably your character page URL) below. In the event that the Mr. Linky widget proves unavailable, please leave a comment containing the latter information needed. I think we can do this!

Sparta! Go AQW, for a Great Release!

Saturday, June 6, 2009

Today was a great release. Not only are we now able to customize our armor colors--where it is available--but there are also new shops, like Quibbler's and the New Shop (Break Shop with brand new items). There are items now that range from 15 AC to 25 AC. So that means great news for non-members. I give a salute to the staff and Artix for that. Aside from that, Quibbler's got some brand new, never-before-seen items that are now fairly decent, as last time's Quibbler shop was less than enough for non-members.

I immensely like the Toga! It makes for a stylish faux pa; although, I still long for the member-only Spartan Armor.

Now, aside from the shops, there's also this new war brewing with Quibbler involved. It seems that some sneevils are after his treasure chest. I bet they only want the container and not the items inside. Oh well. You can type /join warsneevil or just click the button at Battleon. We all have to chip in so we can get Quibbler safely out of here. The items in the war quests are just a repetition of the ones we've obtained during warundead and warhorc, so if you've missed any of the items, you can go and get them now. The items are a good incentive so people will contribute to the war, much more that the Battle Prize is a hard drop.

As I've said before, you can KS to get more medals, thus a faster war; but where's the fun in that, right? It's up to your morals and values to decide whether to Kill Steal or not. I don't approve of it, though.

On a side note, I would post about the Riddler Room, which is a member only map for now, but as I've said, I'm not a member. But I hear a few of you've been having troubles with going to the Clubhouse. Well, it's fine now. As a non-member, I get the "The Clubhouse is an Upgrade only Map" note, so it should be functioning now. Good luck, members! And happy war-ing, non-members!

EDIT: Thanks to my friend, John Joaquin for accompanying me in the pictorials. I would've looked like a clown with a fish, and much more that I'm in a dress. LOL
